The Compact Muon Solenoid is a general purpose detector used in conjunction with a particle collider. It has been optimized to detect a SM Higgs boson over a mass range from 90 GeV to 1 TeV, but it also allows detection of a wide range of possible signatures from alternative electro-weak symmetry breaking mechanisms. This site provides papers and technical reports from the projects, as well as images, future plans and links to related sites.
